I think, being female, and seeing the truth of what men want - I can also see that the same applies to what women want - a person comfortable in their own skin. They are self assured enough that they can allow someone into their space with open arms. They are emotionally mature enough to take responsibility for their actions and choices and can manage their emotions in a way that doesn't have the other person always walking on eggshells. They don't have to play games to get their needs met. Their smile lights up a room because their full of love heart shines thru. They are at peace with themselves and give off that aura of peaceful contentment. They allow space for anothers needs and boundaries, making room for growth and finding compromise within that space. They show gratitude for having someone in their life and express it often. That authentic, real self is always there. That real authentic person provides the safety we all crave, a place were we can be vulnerable, and know that person will protect that part of us with their life and not use it against us.

Thinking back...I realized he has never said he loved me. I also realized that he never actually said, Will you marry me? He said everything but...We have been married for 44 years, dated for 1 yr. Im in my 50s woman got married young.divorced chose to be single..to heal know myself single for years ..only now thinking about meeting someone trust me im so awkward its quite cringey lol it just shows not something that is natural to me as get really nervous..im sure it can be the same for both men & women i think it can also show the opposite to of someone who is confident probably dates or meets people regularly ( in that respect nervous & anxiety can be endearing maybe?) but in my case im so out of practice kind of put me off yhe whole scene of trying dating..if i serendipity meet someone in my everyday life so be it.otherwise to awkward at meetings people as quite shy too 🙈

It's a hard one to deal with. My experience was before we all had mobile phones. I was dating a guy for 6 months, i thought everything was going well and starting to settle into the relationship, as we had both had said we loved each other. He told me he was taking a 2 week holiday. I expected to hear back from him but didn't. I left it another 2 weeks and called to be told he'd met someone else. I don't have a great track record with men. It's taken me a really long time to get over the trauma of men, marriage, rape, cheating and narcissism. I've done a lot of inner work and I finally feel like I'm ready to date 22+ years after my divorce, so I'm taking note of your advice which is really helpful as I'm out of my depth with dating since I haven't been on one since the 1980's and my fear factor is still high around stepping out and giving it another go. It's okay to have relationships but remember you are an individual with individual thoughts and ideas and how habits and hobbies and you can share some of the things like food Hobbies time but never give up your own life and may lose your identity and what makes you happy and you can start being resentful but this is something that you had brought on by being a yes person say yes when it's makes you feel good say no when you don't agree that's normal and strong
